Volvo T5 Versus Volvo T6 Engines Explained

Volvo is known for being an innovator when it comes to style, safety, and performance. Volvo is also renowned for having some of the most advanced engines in the luxury vehicle world. Two of these top powertrains are the T5 and the T6 engine. Here is a look at the differences between these two powertrains.

Drive Systems

The T5 engine is available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models. The T6 engine, however, is only available in all-wheel-drive models. With all-wheel-drive, the vehicle will have enhanced grip and control on the roads of Grandville.

Turbocharged Versus Twin-Charged

The T5 engine is turbocharged while the T6 is twin-charged, which means that the engine is both turbocharged and supercharged, providing ample power for Rockford, MI drivers. With the T6 engine, you will get more power thanks to the twin-charged system. However, both engines provide excellent performance.

Horsepower

The T6 engine will typically have more horsepower than the T5 engine. For instance, the T5 engine on the Volvo XC60 will have 250 horsepower, while the T6 engine will provide up to 316 horsepower.

Available Models

Both the T5 and the T6 engines are available in the S90, XC40, XC60, XC90, and other models. Also, note that the T6 engine will be available on the higher trim levels of many of these Volvo models.
