The Volvo S90 vs The BMW 5-Series

The BMW 5-Series definitely has a lot of efficiency to offer, but the Volvo S90 gives you a lot more comfort, luxury and convenience for a lower price: the Volvo S90 begins at a starting price of $50,300 whereas the BMW 5-Series begins at %52,650, a difference of over $2,200. When you step inside the cabin of the Volvo S90, you'll be greeted to all the comfort that 102 cubic feet of passenger volume can provide with about 38-40 inches of head room and 40-42 inches of leg room, between the first and second rows. The Volvo S90 also features about 13.5 cubic feet of cargo volume and an almost 16-gallon fuel capacity. The BMW 5-Series, unfortunately, is lacking in all of these areas with 98.8 cubic feet of passenger volume, 10 cubic feet of trunk space and a 12.1-gallon fuel capacity.

As you drive out to Kentwood, you'll notice that the Volvo S90 has a lot more entertainment and convenience features to offer with available rear dual-zone climate control (in addition to the front climate control system), remote engine start, an available exterior bike rack, and a more in-depth audio system with Gracenote™, Pandora®, Spotify® and Stitcher®. These features and applications are either absent from base trim levels of the BMW 5-Series or are absent from the sedan entirely.

The Volvo S90 vs The Audi A6

While both of these sedans are pretty equally-matched in terms of the powertrain their engines command, the Volvo S90 gives you a lot more traction and turning efficiency as all trim levels come standard with an all-wheel drive system that redirects engine torque to the wheels and maximizes their capabilities. The Audi A6 sedan features front-wheel drive, which provides some traction, but is less intuitive than all-wheel drive and might not be of as much help when driving through Rockford during the winter. The Volvo S90 also features more interior space over this Audi counterpart thanks to its 101.9 cubic feet of passenger volume. The Audi A6, on the other hand, features about 98 cubic feet of passenger volume.

The Volvo S90 vs The Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Finally, we present the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan, which is definitely a worthy challenger in the luxury sedan lineup as many other sedans of the Mercedes-Benz brand tend to be. However, when it comes to providing the optimum amount of speed, balanced with traction and interior space, the Volvo S90 gives you a lot more for a lower starting price of $50,300. This impressive Volvo sedan generates about 2590 horsepower with its turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and features an intelligent all-wheel drive system for maximum traction and turning efficiency.

The engine of the Volvo S90 also provides a decent amount of fuel efficiency, which is something not many people expect from a luxury sedan, and gains an EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway to Grandville. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class falls short in this important area and gains an EPA-estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The E-Class also contains about 98 cubic feet of passenger volume with 13.1 cubic feet of trunk space over the 101.9 cubic feet of passenger volume and almost 14 cubic feet of trunk space that the Volvo S90 provides.
