Volvo S90 is First Vehicle Ever to Make Semi-Autonomous Driving a Standard Feature

By now, you’ve surely heard all about the all-new Volvo S90 sedan, and have been wow’d by its elegant, distinctly Swedish design. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg for the latest flag ship. It’s also the first car in the world that comes with semi-autonomous features. Not as an available package, and not as an option. Standard.

Called “Pilot Assist,” this system isn’t full autonomous driving as Volvo and other automakers have pledged. Instead, it offers automated driving aids that keep you safe. Activated by a button on the steering wheel, assisted driving and regular driving are seamlessly integrated. For example, if you’re in bumper to bumper traffic, Pilot Assist will scan the lines of the road ahead to keep you in your lane, and also manage speed.
